The second instalment of Spoek Mathambo and Lebogang Rasethaba’s ‘Future Sound of Mzansi’ has been released through Thump.
The documentary explores the landscape of South African electronic music, past, present and future, and features some of South Africa’s most established and most up-and-coming electronic music producers.
Part two explores questions of race and authenticity in South African electronic music. Featuring a colorful cast of producers, singers, and dancers, this episode looks at the long shadow that apartheid has cast on South African music and social politics.
